MotoMail unveiled
Faster way to send letters to deployed troops

A new and innovative way to send mail to Marines and Sailors attached to Marine Corps units was unveiled here Dec. 15 at the Marine Corps Air Bases Western Area auditorium.

MotoMail, or motivational mail, is designed after a similar system used by British forces with a discreet and secure way of sending a letter via the Internet to be hand delivered to a Marine or Sailor on sealed, letter-quality paper.

In order to use MotoMail, users must set up an account at the Web site and create a profile. MotoMail is free for everyone and is currently subsidized by Headquarters Marine Corps.

The Web site offers an assortment of features including an address book, three ways to track letters and a quick letter-writing program.

MotoMail eliminates the slow and costly traditional mailing infrastructure, allowing for 100 percent accurate mailing addresses and mail receipt.

MotoMail will be especially effective this holiday season, as it will allow family members in the United States to send mail Christmas Eve, and their servicemembers serving abroad will receive that mail Christmas Day.
